Clips is such a great way to create videos in the classroom. I used to be an iMovie lover, but I have recently fallen in love with the simplicity of Clips. My 1st graders have been successful with Clips and have created great short videos using this app.
Clips is a more simplistic version of a video creation app that anything I have ever used. You can essentially take any picture/video that you have to use, or film it right from the app. For pictures, you just hold down the red button for as long as you want that picture to show. If you are taking a picture or video right in the app, you have the ability to add a filter to it. There are simple and creative slide transitions that you can use as title slides or to share more information about the video. You can also add "stickers" or clip art to decorate the pictures/videos. At the end, you have the ability to add any music from your iTunes library, or you can pick one of their preadded songs.
There are many ways to share the videos you create on clips like to social media, to your library, via email, text or airdrop.
I love to use clips to have students do reflections on holidays, their days, or anything else coming up. It is fun to have them video themselves just telling you something that is important to them. You can also use it to have students create a book trailer or sell you on visiting on of the 50 states for a project. The options are really endless.
Seriously, you have to try it out. It is so user friendly & fun! If you need a companion for the first time you use it, just snatch this up from my store for only $1!
